5. Using MLA Citation

Paper #1-
I have improved a lot when it comes to the MLA format and MLA citations. I have had to use MLA format when citing all throughout high school too, so I’ve come to be pretty familiar with it. As I have improved on incorporating quotes into my writing, I have also had to learn how to cite all different kinds of references including books, websites, journal articles, etc. I sometimes still struggle on knowing how to cite things when it comes to writing out my works cited page, but my goal is to become extremely confident on how to cite all of my sources, and how to properly put them into a works cited page. I did not have to create a work cited page for this particular piece of writing, so I do not have an example to show. However, I will be sure to post the other works cited pages that I will create in the future, so that I can track my progress and see where I can further improve.

Paper #2-
This was the first paper in where I had to include a MLA formatted work cited at the end of my writing, and so even though it took some time and a lot of research in the Little Seagull Handbook, I think that my works cited page was pretty good. I took my time to make sure that my format, and things included in the citations were correct and accurate, and that I cited every single source that I used. Obviously, there is always room for improvement, but I have already improved a lot from the beginning of the year. I have also become a lot better at incorporating quotations into my writing, and knowing how exactly to cite those in my essay. At first, I didn’t know when I was and wasn’t supposed to include the authors last name into the citation, but I have become a lot better at that now.
Example of my Work Cited page:

Paper #3-
By the third paper, I think I finally got the MLA format and MLA citations down, and I have improved a lot in that area since my first paper. After getting feedback on my second paper about what I need to fix, and little mistakes in my citations and work cited page, I worked hard to make sure that those mistakes weren’t made in my third paper. I was much more confident in citing quotations in my own writing, and knowing the proper MLA format.
