Paper #1-
I am fairly new at having to be a critical reader and annotating texts, but I’ve improved a lot throughout the last couples time I have done it. I am good at taking the text paragraph by paragraph, and summarizing each one and finding the main point. I know how to take whatever the author of the text said, and interpret it into my own words, so that it makes more sense to me. When annotating, I write down many notes in the margins, and made sure to write down any thought or idea that came to my head while reading. One thing that I could improve on is formulating questions that I had about the writing, that could be a discussion question, or just add to my annotations of the writing.
An example of my annotations:

Paper #2-
The annotations that I have taken in each of the three articles we’ve read, have helped me a lot when it comes to writing my essays. I have pretty good at critical reading, and annotating the important parts of the text, or the stuff that I think will be helpful to use in my writing. I started out not really knowing “what I was supposed to write” in the margins, and was still a little confused about what annotating was. However, I feel that I have improved a lot, and take down good notes when critically reading a piece of writing.
Paper #3-
I have become a lot better at being an active and critical reader, and annotating essays in order to help me provide evidence and support in my own writing. I struggled at first with this learning outcome and had a lot of room for improvement when it came to the annotating and critical thinking process, but I have become a lot better at making more connections between outside things and the pieces of writing that I am reading, and know how to pick things out that will help me in my own essays.
Example of my annotations that I used for my third essay:
