If Florence Could See Us Now

This movie helped to remind me why I wanted to go to nursing school and be a nurse, and reassured me that all of the hard work that I am putting in right now will be worth it in the end. This movie made me feel inspired and also excited for the future. I loved hearing different peoples stories about how a nurse has positively impacted their life and how they have made a real difference for people who were going through such a hard time. Something that I learned from this video was to make sure you are being a solid support system for your patients, and be there for them when they have questions, concerns, or just somebody to talk to. As a nurse, I imagine it can be draining to constantly be taking care of other people, but I think this video reinforced how important it is to give every patient you have the best care possible and to treat everyone with kindness and respect. I really enjoyed watching this movie and seeing how far nurses have come, and it has inspired me to just continue to learn and educate myself so that I can eventually be a great nurse myself one day.

I will prepare for my interview by being prepared, on time, and dressed professionally with a quiet and professional background if the interview takes place over Zoom. I will also make sure to have done my research into the job that I am interviewing for, to ensure I know all of the responsibilities that come along with this job. I think that it is also important to prepare some answers to common interview questions so that I can answer them thoughtfully and with confidence. I participated in a lot of extracurricular activities that involved teamwork, so I will be sure to promote teamwork as one of my strengths. I also have experience working in a place where it would get extremely busy, and we would often get difficult customers, so I now how to stay calm and handle stressful situations. My challenges would be going through nursing school during the pandemic, and having more confidence in my skills and knowledge. I will work through this by continuing to educate myself, and ask questions when I need help. As a new grad nurse, I think that it is important to keep in mind that it is better to ask questions, than to make a potentially dangerous decision.
